Our vision and mission require us to commit to and hold ourselves accountable for these values, ensuring that we build a platform with positive impact on our members. We commit to creating a safe environment and to acting and communicating accordingly. We pledge to ensure that the accessibility of our platform is inclusive, and that our community remains open to everyone.

We at MusicHub aim to create a strong community and bring musicians closer together. We will stand up for the what that we believe in and will not tolerate any behaviour or communication that violate our core values.

Disclaimer:

Unfortunately, only behavior on the MusicHub and community (Discord) platform can be enforced.

Core Values at MusicHub:

1.) Embrace diversity and inclusion

We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive platform, in which all feel a sense of belonging and empowerment, and feel able and encouraged to express their authentic selves. Everyone shall feel able to freely contribute their talents, ideas, and perspectives. Together, we can take advantage of our collective diversity, to build the best product and make the best decisions for the community that we serve, creating meaningful experiences for everyone.

What does this mean?

  • We strive to promote fairness and equal opportunities for all.

  • We are respectful of the differences between people and their circumstances.

  • We welcome new ideas, opinions and ways of thinking, that may be different from our own (known as cognitive diversity).

2.) Professionalism, Constructive Criticism

When voicing criticism or feedback, it should always be about the work itself - not about the creator. You are welcome to share your opinion, but this should be done in a constructive, rather than a negative, manner. While MusicHub is a “do-it-yourself platform“, our community is made up of professional musicians, and as such, communication between members should remain professional.

Always ask yourself: “would you appreciate such feedback?”

What does this mean?

Criticism such as...

  • “I’VE NEVER HEARD ANYTHING SO BAD, WHY ARE YOU MAKING MUSIC”

  • “Was ne Scheiße...”

  • "This is awful"

...will not be tolerated!

3.) Being kind and respectful

We have a responsibility to create a kind and respectful environment.

It is important that MusicHub members feel valued and respected, and are treated fairly. Sharing, providing feedback, debating and questioning is essential, but always with kindness, respect and humor. These are core to our culture and key to our vision. This culture helps establish the openness and trust that we need to make informed decisions to build our platform and have a meaningful impact to the music industry.

What does this mean?

  • Treat everyone within our community with respect, regardless of role, position, or status

  • Consider the needs and perspectives of others and how our words and actions might be received

  • Do not threaten, act violently toward or harass others, including sexually

  • Do not insult, bully, disparage, shame or mock others. Instead, look for signs that others are being harassed or bullied

Behavior that we do not tolerate

Discrimination based on:

  • Race, color, ethnic or national origin

  • Age

  • Religion or religious creed (or belief)

  • Sex, including pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, reproductive health decisions or related medical conditions

  • Sexual orientation

  • Gender, gender identity, gender expression, transgender status, or sexual stereotypes

  • Nationality, immigration status, citizenship or ancestry

  • Marital status

  • Physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information or characteristics (or those of a family member)

  • Political views or activity
