An EAN (European Article Number) or UPC (Universal Product Code) is a product code, the same that is used to create a barcode. Both these codes serve the same purpose: to track an item through a system. The EAN is simply the European version of the American UPC.

At MusicHub we use EANs to track releases through our systems and onto the streaming platforms. As soon as you submit a release it is automatically assigned an EAN.

You can find the EAN for each release in the release details:

Please note, that out system assigns EANs automatically so it is not possible to use your own EAN.

Also, it is not recommended to use an EAN for more than one product, as this could lead to conflicts if both items are stored in the same system. So you should not use the MusicHub EAN to create barcodes for any physical versions of your MusicHub release.
