This article refers to a refund via Lesson Offers. If your query is in respect of a block of lessons, please follow the refund process for Lesson Blocks.
When a student requests a Lesson Offer to be refunded, the first step is to be clear on the process you need help with:
A Refund is where lessons paid for by a student are returned as cash. In other words, the student gets their money back
A 'Make-up' lesson is where a lesson from a Lesson Offer is moved to a new date and time. Make-up lessons can be used as a 'goodwill gesture' when the student has given adequate notice or when the teacher can no longer deliver the lesson on the original date and time
As a teacher, you cannot process a refund but should email the request to info@musicteachers.co.uk. We will process the refund to the student, subject to the refund terms and conditions you have input within your Offer.
Actions by you:
If a Lesson Offer is still in the future, and your terms and conditions state that a refund is possible, email info@musicteachers.co.uk to request this
If a Lesson Offer is in the future, and your terms and conditions state that only a make-up lesson is available, you can edit the Offer to change the date/time
If a Lesson Offer is in the past, no refunds are available
A refund of a Lesson Offer
Where a student has purchased a Lesson Offer, a refund is only available if
The terms and conditions you selected state this and the lesson is still in the future
The student purchased the Lesson Offer within the past 14 days, meaning they can exercise their legal right to change their mind in a “cooling-off” period
Important: No refunds are available for lessons that are in the past
