What are platform fees?

For teachers: Platform fees are MusicTeachers' only source of income, used for marketing teachers and providing services and support

Updated today

Platform fees are added to the teacher fee to make the student price. Platform fees are our sole source of income. They are used to fund every aspect of running the platform.

Platform fees on lesson blocks

With blocks of lessons, the platform fee is highest when a single lesson is purchased, and the lowest (16.67% on a basic membership level) when a 20/40 lesson block is purchased. We urge all teachers to make their students aware of how to obtain the lowest price for their lessons.

Platform fees on lesson offers and groups

With lesson offers and groups, a fixed platform fee of between 22% and 14% is levied (depending on the teacher's membership level)

Membership Level

Every hour of teaching you complete through our platform (one-to-one or in a group setting) will bring you closer to a higher membership status and reduced platform fees. Please read our Membership level article for further details.
