Our software offers a layer tool that allows you to layer text and/or graphics on top of or behind each other on the design page(s). All of our templates have layers. Typically, the first layer is the background, then the graphics, then the text. Here is a little more of a breakdown of what a layer is -
A layer is simply one graphic/text stacked on top of another. Imagine I have a piece of paper and I paint it red. Then I take a piece of clear cellophane and paint a yellow circle, and lay it over the paper. Now I take another piece of cellophane and type some blue text on it and lay that on top of the yellow circle. I now have a background (red) and 2 layers (yellow and blue.)
How to Layer -
To use the layer tool, select the text box or graphic on the design page. Then select the Position tool in the upper right, in the drop-down toolbar. After you click the Position tool, a drop-down list will appear.
Bring Forward will bring the text/graphic forward one layer at a time. Since the design pages typically have multiple layers, this is better for only moving one text/graphic on top of one or two other text/graphics.
Bring to Front will bring the text/graphic to the top of all of the layers on the design page.
Send Backward will send the text/graphic forward one layer at a time. Since the design pages typically have multiple layers, this is better for only moving the text/graphic behind one or two other text/graphics.
Send to Back will send the text/graphic all the way to the back of the design page behind all of the other graphics and/or text.
