Why Amazon-Partnered Shipping Options May Not Appear (API Method)

Explains why partnered carrier options may be missing when using the API method and how to resolve the issue by retrying or adjusting placement selections.

Updated over a week ago

If you're using the API box content method and don’t see any Amazon-Partnered carrier options (like UPS), this is a known issue.

As of October 2025, Amazon’s API may intermittently fail to return partnered shipping options when generating transport options.

How to Fix It (Quick Solutions)

If this happens, try the following:

  • Click Regenerate Options for the same placement

  • Try a different placement option

  • Retry generating transport options a few times

👉 In most cases, partnered options will appear after a few attempts.

What’s Happening?

Sometimes, when you generate transport options:

  • Amazon may only show non-partnered carriers

  • Partnered options (like UPS) may appear only after retrying or selecting a different fulfillment center

This is due to inconsistent API responses from Amazon.

Helpful Tip

If you have a preferred fulfillment center, retrying the Regenerate Options button multiple times may help surface better shipping options.

Preventing This Issue

If you encounter this frequently, you may consider switching to:

  • 2D Barcode method for box content submission

This method may provide more consistent transportation options, though it comes with a different workflow.

See here for information on the 2d barcodes workflow.

Summary

  • This is a known Amazon API issue

  • Retrying or regenerating options usually resolves it

  • Switching to 2D barcodes can help if the issue persists

Tip: Be patient when generating options—sometimes it takes a few tries for Amazon to return the correct partnered shipping choices.
