What Does “This Product Exceeds the Allowed Volume for SORTABLE Storage” Mean?

An explanation of the Amazon “SORTABLE storage volume exceeded” error and why Amazon may temporarily block new FBA shipment plans.

If you see this error while creating your FBA shipment:

ERROR: This product exceeds the allowed volume for SORTABLE storage

the message is coming directly from Amazon Seller Central and means your account has currently reached (or exceeded) the amount of sortable inventory Amazon allows you to send into FBA.

📦 What Is SORTABLE Inventory?

Sortable inventory usually includes:

  • books

  • media

  • toys

  • small boxed products

  • and other standard-size items.

These products are grouped by Amazon under the:

SORTABLE

storage category.

⚠️ Why This Happens

Amazon limits how much inventory sellers can send into FBA based on:

  • storage capacity

  • sell-through rate

  • inventory performance

  • existing inventory levels

  • and inbound shipment volume.

If Amazon determines your account has reached its current sortable capacity, it will temporarily block new inbound shipment plans.

❌ Important Clarification

This error is:

  • NOT caused by AccelerList

  • NOT caused by your batch

  • NOT caused by your printer or labels.

The restriction is coming directly from Amazon’s FBA storage system.

💡 Can I Still Keep My Batch?

Yes 👍

You do NOT need to delete your batch.

Your inventory and batch remain saved inside AccelerList while you wait for additional capacity.

✅ Summary

This error simply means Amazon is temporarily limiting the amount of sortable inventory your account can send into FBA based on your current storage capacity and shipment limits.
