How to Fix “This Product Exceeds the Allowed Volume for SORTABLE Storage”

Guides explaining Amazon FBA sortable storage limits, what the “allowed volume for SORTABLE storage” error means, and how to resolve shipment capacity issues when creating inbound shipment plans.

If you encounter this error during FBA shipment creation:

ERROR: This product exceeds the allowed volume for SORTABLE storage

follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

✅ Step 1: Do NOT Delete Your Batch

The good news is:

  • your batch is still safe

  • your listings are still there

  • and you do not need to rebuild the batch.

Simply leave the batch as-is inside AccelerList.

📊 Step 2: Check Your Available Amazon Capacity

Inside Seller Central, go to:

Inventory Performance Dashboard → Storage Volume Monitor

There you can review:

  • current storage usage

  • available sortable capacity

  • inbound shipment limits

  • and shipment volume availability.

⏳ Step 3: Wait for Capacity to Become Available

Amazon may increase your available capacity when:

  • inventory sells

  • old inventory is removed

  • stranded inventory is resolved

  • or Amazon recalculates storage limits.

Sometimes capacity updates automatically after some time.

🔄 Step 4: Retry Creating the Shipment Plan

Once additional capacity becomes available:

  1. Open the batch in AccelerList

  2. Go to the:

Ship

tab

  1. Click:

Retry Creating Plan

Amazon will then attempt to generate the inbound shipment again.

💡 Additional Tips

To free up capacity faster, you may:

  • remove excess inventory

  • improve sell-through rate

  • close stranded inventory

  • wait for existing inventory to sell

  • or reduce shipment quantity temporarily.

⚠️ Important Note

AccelerList cannot fully detect sortable capacity availability before shipment creation because Amazon only validates these limits during:

Inbound Plan Creation

✅ Summary

To fix the sortable storage error:

  • keep your batch

  • wait for additional Amazon capacity

  • then retry creating the shipment plan later.
