Creating your Family History Book

We recommend choosing someone who has at least a few generations of ancestors in the Ancestry tree—someone like you, a child, or a parent.

To create a book about your own family history, select yourself as the starting person.

To create a book about your mother and her ancestors only, select your mother as the starting person.

To create a book about both sides of your parents' families, select your parents as the starting people for a combination style book.

Please note that our editor can only transfer data from one Ancestry Tree per project.
