Vaccines stand as a cornerstone of preventive healthcare, offering protection from various infectious diseases. If you have the category "Medicines - Vaccines" available to you, you can use your myHSA account to reimburse the costs associated with getting vaccinated, whether it be your annual flu shot, a covid booster shot, or vaccinations before you travel!

Identifying Eligible Vaccines

Among the commonly covered vaccines are flu shots, tetanus shots, immunizations for school-aged dependents, standard vaccines for infants, travel immunizations, Covid vaccines and booster shots, and the shingles vaccine! As long as the vaccine is provided by a medical practitioner from the list of professional service providers (attached at the bottom of this article), and their credentials are on the receipt you provide, it is an eligible vaccine!

What documents do you need?

Submitting the service receipt showing the practitioners name and credentials, the date of the immunization/vaccination, the patient name, the cost of the service, and the proof of payment are required to verify eligibility for HSA reimbursement. Some vaccinations also come with an official prescription receipt - this is not a requirement for eligibility, as long as it's administered by a medical practitioner, but if you do receive one, it should be included for additional documentation!
