How to Check Your Balance on the Employee Dashboard

  1. General Balance Display:

    • When you log into your Employee dashboard, look at the balance display.

    • If the balance is shown as one general amount (like in the image below), this means that the balance is shared between you and your dependents. Everyone draws from this single balance. This is the most common set up with myHSA.

    2. Dropdown Menu Next to the Balance:

    • If there is a dropdown menu next to the balance, you can switch to view the balance for each member of your family.

    • If the balance changes when you switch between family members, this indicates that each person has their own individual balance.

Checking Your Plan Details

To get more details about your balance, refer to your plan details PDF. Here you can see if your balance is labeled as Fixed, Individual, or Pooled:

In the PDF, you can look for this in the index to guide you to your Plan And Balance Details page!

*If you are part of a myASO plan, you might have an individual or pooled balance.

These balance options are only available under the myASO plan.

Here's what it means if you have a:

  1. Fixed Balance:

    • Defined as one fixed amount for all members.

    • The employee and their dependents share this balance.

    • This is the most common balance type for myHSA members.

  2. Individual Balance:

    • Each member, including the employee and their dependents, receives their own balance.

    • Balances cannot be shared between members.

  3. Pooled Balance:

    • Each member receives an amount, but the total can be pooled.

    • This pooled total can be shared amongst all members wherever needed.

    • Pooled balances are specific to a special plan called a myASO.Summary

By following these steps, you can easily determine whether your balance is shared with your dependents or individually allocated. If you have questions, please reach out to support@getmyhsa.com or open a live chat!
