Natter has identified that your system audio is muted and you cannot be heard by others, possibly because you are using a Plantronics headset. Action the below to resolve.

Step 1: Type "sound settings" into bottom Search Bar

At the bottom of your screen, you will see a search field on your Windows taskbar. Type into this search field: "sound settings".

Step 2: Click on the "Sound settings" Button

A shortcut will appear, as shown below. Click on "Sound settings" and a new window will appear allowing you to modify your system audio.

Step 3: Click on the "Sound settings" Button

After clicking "Sound settings", a new window will appear. Here, you should:

  • Navigate to the "Input" section

  • Ensure that your headset is selected (we're using a Plantronics 3220)

  • Hover over the muted mic icon and click "Unmute microphone" as shown below

Step 4: Return to Natter and Re-Test

Navigate back to where you have Natter open on your internet browser.

The message may continue to appear. However, you should now be able to test your microphone by speaking into it. The sound bar should react to your voice as you speak:

You are now free to click "Continue" as shown below and join the event, or resume participating on Natter.

If you would like to make sure your microphone, speakers or headset is working at any time, click the cog wheel as shown below on certain Natter web pages. This is found at the bottom right hand corner of the screen, as shown below:
