Normally, when you use the slideshow feature on PowerPoint, the presentation takes up the whole screen. This prevents you from being able to navigate between Natter and the presentation you are sharing.
Below, we outline guidance about how to screen share a presentation whilst also being able to navigate to Natter on your internet browser and monitor a live Broadcast.
Step 1: Set up Slide Show Settings from Slide Show Ribbon
Ensuring you have Microsoft PowerPoint open as an application and not the browser-based SharePoint or Office 365 version, click on the "Slide Show" ribbon.
Secondly, click on "Set Up Slide Show", as shown below.
Step 2: Choose "Browsed by an individual" setting
A popup should appear. Ensure you click on "Browsed by an individual (window)", , the middle option within the "Show type" section and click "OK" as shown below.
Step 3: Click on "From Beginning" from Slide Show Ribbon
Ensuring you have clicked on the "Slide Show" settings ribbon, click on "From Beginning".
PowerPoint now shows your presentation in slide show mode, but with the important difference that you are able to navigate between applications, including the web browser where you have Natter open.
Step 4: Return to Natter & Click "Share media"
Navigate back to your internet browser where Natter is showing. On the bottom toolbar, click "Share media" and then choose the "Screen share" setting, as shown below.
Step 5: Choose "Window" and your PowerPoint Presentation
When you click "screen share", a popup will appear, asking you what you would like to share. Click on the "Window" option to select an application, and find your PowerPoint presentation, as shown below. Click on the Presentation and then click "Share".
After you click "Share", your Presentation will start being screen shared. To move to the next slide, you will have to navigate back to PowerPoint to do so. When you want to finish sharing, click the "Stop sharing" button on the bottom toolbar.
