Nearo calls connect you directly with a teammate listed on your home screen, using the Nearo desktop app on both computers.

Who can start or receive Nearo calls
Calls are placed and received in the Nearo desktop app only. You cannot place or receive a call from a browser.
Both people need to be signed in to the Nearo desktop app.
You can call anyone listed under Call a teammate on your home screen.
Starting a Nearo call
Open the Nearo desktop app and sign in. Nearo opens to the home screen.
On the home screen, scroll to the last section, Call a teammate, under the organization name and your email. Find the person in the Team Members list, and use the search box if the list is long.
Check the status next to each name: a green dot means the person is online, and a red dot means they are offline and cannot be called.
Click Call next to the name of a person who is online.
You will hear ringing and see "Calling [Name]...". Click the red End button if you want to cancel.
When the other person answers, the meeting window opens and the call begins.
🔔 If the person is offline, no call is placed and you see "[Name] is currently offline." If they are already in a call, you see "[Name] is in a call right now." If they are in a session in their own room, you see "[Name] is in a lesson right now."
ℹ️ If they select Not now, you see "[Name] declined your call." If they do not answer, the call stops ringing and you see "[Name] didn't answer."
Receiving a Nearo call
Keep the Nearo desktop app open and signed in. Nearo brings its window to the front when a call comes in, even if it was hidden.
You will hear ringing and see a card at the bottom center of the Nearo main window with the caller's name and "Calling you...".
Click Answer to join the call, or Not now to decline.
ℹ️ If you do not answer, the ringing stops and Nearo briefly shows "Missed call from [Name]". Nearo does not keep a list of missed calls.
🔔 If the Nearo desktop app is not open, incoming calls will not reach you.
Ending a Nearo call
Either person can end the call at any time.
Click the red End Call button at the right end of the Controls bar, the dark gray strip along the bottom of the call window. The call ends immediately for both people, with no confirmation.
ℹ️ Calls have no time limit. Two hours after a call connects, both people are asked "Are you still there?" Select OK to keep going, and Nearo asks again two hours later. If you select Cancel, or the question is not answered within 2 minutes, the call ends.
