Nearo Calls connect you directly with a specific student from your roster using the Nearo desktop app.

Who can start or receive Nearo calls
Calling permissions in Nearo depend on your role.
Administrators and teachers can start calls and receive incoming calls.
Students can receive calls but cannot start calls.
Starting a Nearo call
Only administrators and teachers can start calls, and the Nearo desktop app must be open.
Open the Nearo desktop app.
View your list of connected people.
Check the status next to each name.
A green dot means the person is online and available.
A red dot means the person is offline and cannot be called.
Press the Call button next to the name of a person with a green dot.
Listen for the ringing sound, which is similar to a standard phone ring.
When the other person answers, they will appear on your screen and the call will begin.
π You can only start calls with people who are online and showing a green dot.
Receiving a Nearo call
Administrators, teachers, and students can all receive calls, but the Nearo desktop app must be open.
Keep the Nearo desktop app open on your computer.
Listen for the ringing sound through your computer's speakers.
Press Answer to join the call.
π If the Nearo desktop app is not open, incoming calls will not be received.
Ending a Nearo call
Any participant in the call can end it at any time.
Press the red End call button.
The call will disconnect for both participants.
