Why your credit score or bank accounts disappeared after using Apple Sign-In
Who this is for:
Users who added Apple Sign-In to their NerdWallet account and now see missing information like their credit score or linked bank accounts.
What this article covers:
This explains why your data might appear missing after signing in with Apple and how to get back to your original NerdWallet account.
Why this happens
If you used "Sign in with Apple" and chose to hide your email, NerdWallet may have created a brand-new account for you. This new account won’t show your linked bank accounts or credit score, because it’s not connected to your original profile.
Nothing is lost—your original account is still safe. You’re just signed into a different (new) account.
How to fix it
Log out of the account you’re currently in.
Sign back in using the method you used originally:
Your email and password, or
Google Sign-In (if that’s what you used before)
You should now see your credit score, linked accounts, and other saved data.
Not sure what email address your Apple account uses?
If you signed in with Apple and hid your email, Apple created a private relay address ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com. You'll need this address to sign back into your original NerdWallet account or to get help from our team. Learn how to find your Apple private relay email address.
What to do next
To avoid confusion in the future, we recommend closing the new account that was created using Apple Sign-In.
Common questions
Q: Will I lose any data from my original account?
No. Your original account and data remain unchanged and secure.
Q: Why did this happen just because I hid my email?
When you choose Apple’s “Hide My Email” feature, Apple creates a new anonymous email. NerdWallet treats this as a new user, which results in a separate account.
Q: Can I link my Apple ID to my original account instead?
At this time, you can’t merge accounts. Stick with your original login method to access your existing information.
Q: I signed in with Apple twice — once with my real email and once with a hidden email. How do I find the hidden email address?
Apple creates a private relay address (ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com) when you choose to hide your email. You'll need this address to recover access to your original account or to provide it to our support team. See how to find your Apple private relay email address.
Q: Can I just change the email address?
No, it is not possible to change the email on a NerdWallet account that is set up with Apple auth.
If you need to use a different email address for your NerdWallet account, you'll need to close the current account and open a new one with the new email address. This is a limitation imposed in part by Apple as a security measure and NerdWallet is unable to make exceptions.
