Are my children identified by name in my Will?

Yes, your children will be named in your Will exactly as you enter them in the Family and Contacts section of your NetLaw account.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Yes. When you create your estate plan using NetLaw, your children are identified by name in your Will and other related documents.

This ensures that your wishes are clearly outlined and that each child is properly included and referenced.

How Your Children Are Added

To include your children in your Will:

  1. Click “Family and Contacts” from the left-side menu in your NetLaw account

  2. Add each child’s full legal name, date of birth, and relationship

  3. Once entered, these names will automatically populate into your Will when you begin drafting

The name(s) you enter will appear exactly as written in your Will and other legal documents, such as your Trust or Power of Attorney.

Why This Matters

Using full legal names helps:

  • Avoid confusion between similarly named individuals

  • Ensure each child receives the correct portion of their inheritance

  • Clearly reflect your intentions in a legally enforceable way
