How to Update Your Will in NetLaw

To make changes to your Will:

  1. Click SmartGuide Interviews from the left-side menu

  2. Select Last Will (or "Last Will + Living Trust if you have purchased our trust based package)

  3. Click your name, then click Edit

  4. Make any necessary updates (e.g., new beneficiaries, guardians, or executors)

  5. Click Finish to reassemble your Will

  6. Go to the My Files section to download your updated Will

Do I Need to Sign or Notarize the New Will?

Once you’ve updated your Will, the new version must generally be signed and witnessed (and notarized, if required by your state) to replace your previous Will.

  • The new Will generally revokes your older version

  • Only your most recent, properly executed Will is legally enforceable
