HT101 - How to Get Started with Netrunner

Follow these steps to set up your Netrunner account, subscribe, configure your tax settings, and begin generating reports.

Step 1 — Visit Netrunner Website

→ Go to the Netrunner homepage.

→ Click the Get Started button to begin.


Step 2 — Sign In to Netrunner

→ You’ll be prompted to sign in.

→ Choose whether you’d like to connect with Google or Discord.


Step 3 — Select Your Account

→ If signing in with Google: Select the Google account you wish to use for Netrunner.

→ If signing in with Discord: Enter your Discord login (email/username) and password to proceed.


Step 4 — Choose a Plan

→ You’ll be directed to the subscription options.

→ Select the subscription plan that is best suited for your needs

→ Click Select Plan to continue.


Step 5 — Select Your Country

→ Choose the country where you file taxes.

→ This determines local compliance settings.


Step 6 — Configure Tax Settings

→ Set your Currency.

→ Select your Cost Tracking method.

→ Choose your Cost Method (FIFO, LIFO, HIFO, LCFO, HMRC, or CRA).

→ Adjust your Timezone.

→ Select your Default Explorer.


Step 7 — Save Your Settings

→ Once your tax preferences are configured, click Proceed to Checkout to continue.


Step 8 — Enter Billing Information

→ Fill in your billing address details, including:

 → Country

 → State/Province

 → City

 → Postal Code

 → Address

→ Click Continue To Payment.


Step 9 — Connect Wallet & Pay

→ Choose your payment method.

→ Netrunner accepts $SOL on Solana.

→ Connect your wallet and confirm the transaction to pay 1 $SOL for your subscription.


Step 10 — Complete Setup

→ Once payment is successful, you’ll see a confirmation message.

→ Click Enter Netrunner to start adding wallets and accounts.


Step 11 — Add Your Wallets or Exchanges

→ Paste your Solana wallet address(es) into the field provided.

→ You can also connect supported exchanges like Binance US or Coinbase.

See Step 12 for connecting an exchange account.

→ Click Add & Continue when ready.


Step 12 — Connect CEX (Optional)

If you select Binance US, follow these steps:

 → Log in to Binance US

 → Go to Account > Statements (or Transaction History)

 → Generate a statement for All Assets, All Transactions, and All Time

 → Export it as a CSV file

 → Upload the CSV here, then click Start CSV Import

If you select Coinbase, follow these steps:

 → Log in to your Coinbase account.

 → Go to Taxes > Documents (or Reports, depending on your account version).

 → Generate a transaction history report for All Assets, All Transactions, and All Time.

 → Export the report as a CSV file.

 → Upload the CSV here, then click Start CSV Import.


Step 13 — Confirm Wallet Connection

→ Once your wallet(s) or exchanges are connected, you’ll see them displayed.

→ Review your setup.

→ Click Add & Continue.


Step 14 — View Your Portfolio & Reports

→ Your dashboard will begin syncing transactions.

→ Netrunner will calculate your Capital Gains, Net Income, and more.

→ When complete, you can download your Tax Report directly.
