Installing the NextStage for Word Add-in

Overview

The NextStage for Word Add-in enables seamless integration between Microsoft Word, SharePoint, and NextStage. It allows you to develop proposal content directly within your existing Word templates while maintaining synchronization with your NextStage workspace.

This guide explains how to install the NextStage for Word Add-in for Microsoft 365 Commercial environments.

If you are using a Microsoft 365 GCC tenant, please follow the GCC-specific installation instructions instead.


Install the Add-in

  1. Open Microsoft Word using the desktop application.

  2. In the top-right corner, click Add-ins.

  3. Select More Add-ins from the dropdown menu.

  4. In the Add-ins store, search for NextStage.

  5. Click Add next to the NextStage for Word Add-in.

  6. Once installed, the NextStage Add-in will appear in your Add-ins panel and be available for use.


What You Can Do with the Add-in

After installation, you can:

  • Access NextStage content directly within Word

  • Insert proposal content into your existing templates

  • Work seamlessly with SharePoint-hosted proposal documents

Install the NextStage for Word Add-in (Microsoft 365 GCC)

If you are trying to install the plugin on a Microsoft 365 GCC tenant, please follow these instructions instead.

This guide explains how to install the NextStage for Word Add-in for Microsoft 365 Government Community Cloud (GCC) environments.

If you are using a Microsoft 365 Commercial tenant, please follow the Commercial installation instructions instead.


Before You Begin

Microsoft 365 GCC environments do not always provide access to the public Office Add-in Store. Installation may require one of the following:

  • Installation from a direct Add-in link provided by NextStage, or

  • Installation by your Microsoft 365 administrator through centralized deployment

Contact your NextStage administrator if you do not have access to install add-ins.


Install the Add-in (User Installation)

  1. Open Microsoft Word using the desktop application.

  2. Click the Add-ins button in the top-right corner.

  3. Select More Add-ins.

  4. If the Office Store is available, search for NextStage.

  5. Click Add to install the NextStage for Word Add-in.

If the Office Store is not available, proceed to the Administrator Installation section below.


Install the Add-in (Administrator Deployment)

If your organization restricts add-in installation, a Microsoft 365 administrator must deploy the add-in.

Administrators should:

  1. Open the Microsoft 365 Admin Center

  2. Navigate to:
    Settings → Integrated apps

  3. Click Add-ins → Deploy Add-in

  4. Select the NextStage Add-in deployment package or URL provided by NextStage

  5. Assign the add-in to the appropriate users or groups

  6. Complete the deployment process

Once deployed, users will see the NextStage Add-in automatically in Microsoft Word.


What You Can Do with the Add-in

After installation, you can:

  • Access NextStage proposal content directly within Word

  • Insert content into your organization’s proposal templates

  • Work seamlessly with SharePoint-hosted proposal files

  • Continue editing using native Microsoft Word tools

  • Maintain alignment between NextStage and your Word documents


Verify Installation

To confirm the add-in is installed:

  1. Open Microsoft Word

  2. Click Add-ins

  3. Confirm that NextStage appears in the Add-ins panel
