Overview
Oftentimes, it can be helpful to change candidate statuses in bulk rather than one at a time. For example, if you are no longer hiring for a position, you may filter your candidates to show those candidates who applied for the position, select the relevant applications, and archive them all at once.
Considerations
When changing candidate statuses in bulk, there are a few things to keep in mind to ensure you will be able to update statuses as you intend:
When you press “select all” on the "Candidates" -> "View all" page, all applications for the selected candidates will be chosen by default. Ensure that only the applications you would like to update are selected before proceeding.
If you wish, you can avoid this behavior by instead navigating to the "Candidates" -> "By posting" view and then bulk-moving candidates.
Candidate statuses can be bulk updated to any pre-hiring pool statuses, to the Screened Hiring Pool (SHP) status, and to any archived or onboarding statuses.
In order for a status to be eligible for bulk movement, it must be part of the workflow for applicable jobs (i.e., the status must be selected in the “Status Workflow” section of the job posting to which the selected candidate has applied). That is to say, if you want to move 10 candidates who have applied to 4 different jobs to the “Phone Interview” pre-hiring pool status, the “Phone Interview” status must first be checked in the “Status Workflow” section for all 4 jobs.
If you wish to bulk update candidates to an onboarding status, they must all first be in the “hired” status
Updating statuses in bulk
Once you have confirmed the above, you can quickly and easily update numerous candidates’ statuses at once.
To do so, navigate to the Candidates page (either “View all” or “By posting”) and select the candidates and applications you would like to move.
A modal will appear at the bottom of the screen; select “Bulk Status Change” and click the status you would like to move all selected applications to.
