What is ARIA-i?
Updated over a month ago

ARIA-i is an AI-powered tool created by nkoda for musicians, supporting them as they discover, make, and write about music. ARIA-i consists of three specifically-designed modules in which users can focus their learning on orchestration and arranging, music history, or writing. Whether for advice on an orchestral arrangement, a jumpstart on musicology research, or another pair of eyes to check your work, ARIA-i can help.

As a large language model, ARIA-i supports text queries in a variety of languages and its modularity focuses user queries to provide optimal answers and context.

The Orchestration module is knowledgeable about musical instruments, their coordination within a work, and adapting works from one medium to another.

ARIA-i’s Music History module is built to recall factual information about and critically analyse historical events, particularly those relevant to music.

Lastly, the Writing module of ARIA-i supports users’ academic writing practice. It guides students when writing about music in contexts spanning music criticism, score analysis, and critical essays. Beyond the content of academic work, ARIA-i Writing helps students communicate their ideas as effectively as possible; ARIA-i suggests strategies for improving structure, style and language. Citation formatting guidance, translations, and proofreading are also possible within ARIA-i writing.

ARIA-i offers access to trusted musical knowledge on-demand — a learning companion, expanding and easing students’ learning, whether used for creative back-and-forth, sourcing research, or constructive feedback.
