Event Defaults

Event Default Settings in Nowsta allow you to set company-wide preferences that automatically apply to all newly created events.

Applicable Settings

“Show Event Time to Workers?” Default

  • Controls whether event start and end times are visible to workers. When set to Show, workers can view the event times in the app. When set to Hide, event times are not displayed to workers.

Shift Start/End Time Visibility Default

  • Controls how shift start and end times are displayed to workers. You can choose to Show Start/End Time, Hide Start/End Time, or Display "Approximately" before Start/End Time to indicate that the scheduled times may be subject to change.

Clock-in Access Default

  • Determines who can clock workers in for their shifts. You can allow workers to clock themselves in through the app or restrict clock-ins so that only supervisors can clock workers in.

Uniform Default

  • Set a default uniform requirement that is automatically applied to newly created shifts or events, helping ensure consistent dress code expectations across your workforce.

Worker Instructions Default

  • Set default instructions that are automatically included on newly created shifts or events, ensuring workers receive consistent guidance and important job details.

Summary

Event Defaults allow administrators to configure company-wide settings that are automatically applied to all newly created events in Nowsta. These defaults help maintain consistency across scheduling and workforce management by controlling event time visibility, shift time display options, clock-in permissions, uniform requirements, and worker instructions. By setting these preferences once, organizations can streamline event creation and ensure workers receive consistent information and expectations.
