Introduction
Nowsta allows users to communicate through chat, but the ability to create a group chat depends on where you are accessing Nowsta. Currently, group chats can only be created through http://app.nowsta.com on a desktop or laptop browser.
Overview
There are currently different chat capabilities depending on the platform you're using:
Desktop/Laptop browser: You can create group chats through http://app.nowsta.com .
Mobile browser: You can create individual chats, but group chats cannot be created.
Nowsta Workers App: Group chats cannot currently be created from the app.
How to Create a Group Chat
1. Access Nowsta From a Desktop or Laptop
Open http://app.nowsta.com using a browser on your desktop or laptop.
2. Start a New Chat
Create a new chat and select the recipients you want to include.
You can also provide a title for the group chat.
3. Send Your Message
Once the recipients and chat title have been selected, you can begin communicating with the group.
The group chat will then be available for continued communication through the supported platform.
Alternative Method
Creating an Individual Chat From a Mobile Device
If you're accessing http://app.nowsta.com from a mobile browser, you can still create or participate in individual chats.
However, creating a group chat from a mobile browser is not currently supported.
If you need to create a group chat, use http://app.nowsta.com from a desktop or laptop browser instead.
Troubleshooting
I don't see an option to create a group chat in the Workers App
This is expected behavior. The Nowsta Workers App currently does not support creating group chats.
To create a group chat, access http://app.nowsta.com from a desktop or laptop.
I am using http://app.nowsta.com on my phone, but I can't create a group chat
Group chat creation is not currently available when accessing http://app.nowsta.com through a mobile browser.
You can create individual chats from a mobile browser, but you'll need to use a desktop or laptop browser to create a group chat.
I can create group chats on my computer but not on my phone
This is expected. Group chat creation is currently supported on http://app.nowsta.com through a desktop or laptop browser, but not through a mobile browser or the Workers App.
Important Notes
Group chats can currently be created only through http://app.nowsta.com on a desktop or laptop browser.
The Nowsta Workers App does not currently support creating group chats.
A mobile browser can be used for individual chats, but not for creating group chats.
The limitation on creating group chats through the Workers App is an expected behavior and is not an error with the user's account.
Feedback about adding group chat functionality to the Workers App has been shared with the Product Team for consideration.
Summary
If you need to create a group chat in Nowsta, use http://app.nowsta.com from a desktop or laptop browser. Group chat creation is not currently available through the Nowsta Workers App or through a mobile browser.
Individual chats can still be created through a mobile browser.
