Nowsta Email Notification Settings

Nowsta has different email notification settings depending on the type of notification you want to receive.

If you change one notification email but messages are still being sent to another address, it may be because that email address is connected to an individual Nowsta user with its own notification subscriptions.

Shift Accept and Decline Notifications

To change the email address that receives notifications when workers accept or decline a shift:

  1. Log in to Nowsta.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Select Notification Preferences.

  4. Find the Reply-To Email field.

  5. Enter the email address that should receive worker accept/decline notifications.

  6. Click Save.

This setting controls the email address used for these company-level shift response notifications.

Individual User Notification Subscriptions

Other Nowsta notifications may be controlled separately at the user level.

Each coordinator or user can have their own notification subscriptions associated with their Nowsta user profile.

To review your subscriptions:

  1. Log in to Nowsta using the applicable user account.

  2. Go to Your Workspace.

  3. Select Notification Preferences.

  4. Review the notifications that the user is currently subscribed to.

  5. Update the subscriptions as needed.

Changing the company Reply-To Email does not automatically update or remove notification subscriptions belonging to another Nowsta user.

Example

If you change the company Reply-To Email from:

to:

the old email may still receive certain notifications if old-email@company.com is also being used as the email address for a Nowsta user profile with active notification subscriptions.

You should review the user associated with the old email and update that user's Notification Preferences separately.

Why is the old email still receiving messages?

If notifications continue going to an old email address, check the following:

  • Is the old email connected to an existing Nowsta user or coordinator?

  • Does that user still have notification subscriptions enabled under Your Workspace → Notification Preferences?

  • Is the email being used elsewhere in the user's profile?

  • Is the message a company-level shift response notification or a user-specific notification?

Some emails, such as receipts or other user-related notifications, may also be sent based on the email address saved directly on the user's profile.

Not Receiving Notifications at the New Email?

If your notification settings are correct but the new email is not receiving messages, check your email provider's spam, security, or domain-blocking settings.

Make sure emails from:

are allowed or whitelisted by your email provider.

In one reported case, the Nowsta notification settings were configured correctly, but the recipient's mail system was blocking emails from Nowsta.

Moving All Notifications to a New Email

Changing the company Reply-To Email alone may not move every notification to the new address.

If you are replacing an existing Nowsta user email with a new shared notification address, you may also need to:

  1. Add or create the appropriate Nowsta user using the new email address.

  2. Review the notification subscriptions associated with the old user.

  3. Update the applicable subscriptions to use the new user/email.

If you need to transfer multiple existing notification subscriptions from one Nowsta user to another and cannot make those changes from Notification Preferences, contact Nowsta Support for assistance.
