Say goodbye to static files - use the power of Nugit's Live Link feature to explore data with dynamic visualisations, even without logging in.

Whether you're viewing a story via Live Link or in view mode while logged in, view mode changes are not saved, so feel free to experiment with different cuts of data that interest you.

To learn more about Live Link and other ways of sharing stories, see 'How do I share my stories?'.

Depending on the permissions enabled in a story's settings, you may interact with it in the following ways:

Permissions for live view: 1. Change date range, 2. Select dimensions and metrics, 3. Customise metrics, 4. Download PPTX, 5. Filter data, 6. Sort data, 7. Export CSV data

I. Change date range

Click the calendar icon at the top of the story to select what dates are included in the entire story.

To change the date range for an individual nugit, hover over it and click the calendar icon on the grey toolbar.

II. Select dimensions and metrics

Click the underlined text in selectors (“Showing ______ grouped by ______”) to change metrics and dimensions.

Hover over table nugits and click Customise Metrics to add or remove metrics.

III. Download PPTX

Click Download from the top of your story to download a PPTX file containing all nugits in the story as images.

IV. Filter data

Click the filter icon at the top of a story to access the global filter. Add dimensions or edit existing filter conditions, then click Save to apply your filters to the entire story.

If you want to filter an individual nugit, not the whole story, hover over it and click the filter icon on the grey toolbar to access nugit-level filter settings.

For help setting up the filters you need, see our quick video guide here.

V. Sort data

Hover over bar chart nugits and click the sorting icon to change sorting settings.

In table nugits, click column headers to sort rows ascending or descending by value or alphabetically.

VI. Export CSV data

Hover over any nugit type and click the download CSV icon to download data showing in that nugit as a CSV file.
