To get started completing your credit application, we will ask you to first verify your business. Nuvo helps by securely checking your details against the IRS database. This protects both you and your supplier from fraudulent applications and keeps the approval process running smoothly.
What you’ll need
Legal business name (exactly as shown on IRS documents such as your CP-575)
Employer Identification Number (EIN) — or Social Security Number if you’re a sole proprietor
Step 1: Business Region
Select the country where your business is legally registered. This ensures we match your details with the right database and regulations.
Step 2: Legal Business Name
Type your official business name exactly as it appears on IRS records. Even small differences — like missing “LLC” or an extra space — can cause you to fail verification.
⚠️ Sole Proprietors:
This is your first and last name as it appears on your government-issued ID.
Step 3: Federal ID Number (IRS Tax ID)
Also known as your EIN/FEIN/TIN. Enter your Employer Identification Number (EIN). This acts like a Social Security Number for your business. You can find this number on your CP-575, which was emailed and mailed to you when your business was originally established.
This is NOT your Sales Tax license number.
⚠️ Sole Propretiors:
If you file taxes under your Social Security Number instead of an EIN, enter your SSN here.
Common obstacles
Entering a trade name instead of your legal business name
Leaving out “LLC,” “Inc,” or other entity suffixes
Using a personal SSN when your business has an EIN
Trying to verify a newly registered business too soon. It can take 3–4 weeks for new businesses to appear in the IRS database. If your information isn’t recognized yet, wait a few weeks and try again.
