1. What’s in the Box

  • NxSCOPE Device

  • USB charging cable

  • Optional Bluetooth dongle

  • Get Started Card with:

    • QR code linking to the NxSCOPE welcome page

    • Download links for the apps (iOS, Android, Web)

2. Before You Begin

  • Charge the Device

    • Plug in your NxSCOPE and charge it for at least 2 hours
      A red light will turn on when charging

3. Install the NxVET App

4. Update The Firmware

  • Open the NxVET App

  • Tap "NxSCOPE"

  • Scan for devices

  • Tap "Update"

  • Tap "Update Firmware"

  • Stay on this screen while the device downloads and restarts, and don’t switch apps. When the timer hits 0, the update’s done, and the device will reboot. The whole process only takes a couple of minutes

5. Get your device ready for its first recording

Mobile (iOS or Android)

  • Tap “Clear Data” to wipe any recordings that may already be on the device

  • Tap “Status” before your first measurement
    ​

    You are now ready for your first recording!

6. Using NxSCOPE

NxSCOPE has two modes, voice and vitals, controlled using the buttons with corresponding icons at the side of the device:

  • Voice Mode: Press the “🎙️” button for ~0.5 seconds until the Blue LEDs start to pulse. The recording will end automatically after 60 minutes, or you can stop it earlier by pressing and holding the “🎙️” button again

  • Vitals Mode: Press the “🩺” button for ~0.5 seconds until the Green LED flashes. The recording will end automatically after 30 seconds, or you can stop it earlier by pressing and holding the “🩺” button again
    ​

Your NxSCOPE now functions like a remote control. One button per mode. Simple.

7. Attach NxSCOPE to your stethoscope

*Keep the mic mesh facing up. You’ll get the clearest voice recordings.

8. Measuring with NxSCOPE

  • With the patient standing naturally, locate where the elbow meets the chest wall, then place your device firmly against the chest, one rib-space cranial to this point (over the 5th intercostal space). Ensure firm, steady pressure for optimal device performance and accurate measurements

9. Syncing your Data

  • Option 1: Auto Sync

    Tap "Auto Sync". When the app shows "Monitoring", your device syncs automatically every time you take a measurement (assuming it is within the ~10m range)

  • Option 2: Manual Sync

    When you’d rather control it yourself, tap "Sync". The app will pull every recording from the device in one shot. Note: The initial upload may take 1–2 min, subsequent syncs are <10s

  • Assign your records: If a measurement isn’t linked to anyone yet, tap "Assign", and choose the right patient or create a new patient

  • View your records: Tap any record to see its AI SOAP summary and all the measurements

9. Calibration Instructions

  • Take 3 paired rectal + NxScope temps on your first patient, then enter them by tapping "Manual Vitals"

10. Troubleshooting & Support

  • Missing Item?
    ​     Contact us at "support@nx.vet"

  • Red light only ⇒ battery <10%, charge device

  • No Bluetooth?
    ​     If your computer doesn’t detect the device, check:

    • If the dongle is properly inserted

    • If drivers were installed

    • Try a different USB port

  • Prefer not to download an app?
    ​     Use the web-based interface instead at app.nx.vet
