Under the Settings tab from your dashboard homepage, click on Plan and Billing.

In the Tax Information section, confirm that your EIN is correct.

Select the checkbox next to “Donations are tax-deductible and will show the Organization Name and EIN at the bottom of my receipts".

The following message will now appear on your donation confirmation emails:

🎭 Noteworthy: When items are purchased in a fundraiser, the cost of the item (set in the Campaign dashboard) is subtracted from the total paid. The cost should reflect the actual value of the item if it is being given to the patron. For example, if a box of cookies costs the organization $10 and they sell it at a fundraiser for $15, then $10 should be set as the cost of the item and $5 of that box of cookies is tax deductible

🎓 Recap:

This article explains how to include your organization's tax information on patron receipts within the On The Stage platform. By enabling this feature, your organization's name and Employer Identification Number (EIN) will automatically appear on donation confirmation emails, assisting patrons with their tax-deductible contributions.

🚀 Best Practices:

  • Verify EIN Accuracy: Ensure your Employer Identification Number is correct in the Plan and Billing section under Settings.

  • Enable Tax-Deductible Option: Check the box labeled "Donations are tax-deductible and will show the Organization Name and EIN at the bottom of my receipts" to activate this feature.

  • Set Accurate Item Costs: For fundraisers involving item sales, input the actual cost of each item in the Campaign dashboard. This ensures patrons receive correct information regarding the tax-deductible portion of their purchase.

By following these steps, you provide patrons with the necessary documentation for their tax records, enhancing transparency and trust in your organization's fundraising efforts.
