If you chose the Photo method, here's how to make sure your submission gets accepted.
How to take a good photo
Make sure the odometer is fully visible and the digits are sharp.
Stand directly in front of the dashboard — no angles.
Avoid glare from sunlight or reflections from the windshield.
Make sure the photo includes the whole number, no cropping.
What happens after you submit
Your photo goes through OCR (automatic number reading) and is verified within about a minute. You'll see one of three states on Vehicle Details:
Approved — your reading is recorded, that week's mileage is logged.
Pending Review — the OCR couldn't read the photo clearly, so a person checks it. This usually takes under 20 minutes; in rare cases, up to 24 hours.
Photo Unclear — your photo couldn't be read at all. You'll get a banner asking for a new photo. Submit it before the 48-hour grace period ends so the week still counts.
You'll get a push notification when your reading is approved.
Can I edit a reading after it's submitted?
No — once a reading is verified, it's locked. If you spot a problem, message us through the app and we'll take a look.
