If your vehicle supports Smartcar, you can skip the Sunday photo and let the app read the odometer for you automatically. This is called Auto-Submit.
Which cars are supported?
Most cars from 2015 onwards from the following manufacturers:
Acura, Audi, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jeep, Kia, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Nissan, Porsche, Ram, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo
If your car isn't listed or is older, just choose the Photo method instead.
How to connect
1. When adding your vehicle, choose Auto-Submit.
2. We'll redirect you to Smartcar to log in with your car manufacturer's account (the same login you'd use on your car's official app — for example, FordPass, MyChevrolet, or myAudi).
3. Approve permission to share your odometer reading.
4. You'll be returned to the app and your vehicle is set up.
What if the connection fails?
You'll see a Smartcar connection failure message. The most common reasons:
Your car isn't on the Smartcar list above
Your manufacturer account doesn't have your VIN attached
You denied the permission on the consent screen
Try again, or switch to the Photo method — that works for any vehicle.
Can I switch later?
Yes. Open Vehicle Details and tap Change reporting method at any point during the pilot.
