We take privacy seriously, and the One Car Challenge only collects what's needed to run the pilot.
What we collect
Odometer readings — the photos you submit, or the readings we get via Auto-Submit.
Location — only while the app is open, and only to verify that submitted photos are taken near the vehicle.
TAP card trips — bus and train tap-ins from any card you link.
Survey responses — answers to optional surveys you choose to complete.
Basic device info — phone model, OS version, app version, for troubleshooting.
What we don't collect
We don't track your continuous location in the background.
We don't see where you are when the app is closed.
We don't sell or share your data with advertisers.
Who sees the data
LA Metro — anonymous, aggregated trip and mileage data for pilot evaluation.
King's College London — anonymous, aggregated data for academic research.
GoCarma (the app provider) — operational data only, to run the app.
Your control
You can request a copy of your data, ask to delete it, or withdraw from the pilot at any time. See Withdrawing from the program for the steps.
