Can we finance solar on a new build?

Updated over 4 months ago

If a customer is looking to install solar on a new construction home, the property must be classified as a home on the property appraiser’s records—not as vacant land—before we can issue loan documents. If the property is still listed as vacant land, the client will need to provide a certificate of occupancy before proceeding.

Additionally, if the home is under construction and not expected to be completed within the next six months, it is in the customer's best interest to wait. Solar installation is expected to be completed within six months of signing the loan documents, so timing is crucial.
