When an employee calls in sick, or has any other form of absence from work, it is the role of their line manager to record this absence on oneHR.
Firstly, to create the absence record, click on the link below and follow the steps in this guide.
Once you have created the absence, the next steps depend on the employee's return. If the employee is absent again the next day, in the leave calendar, click on the absence record created previously. In the pop-up box that appears, click Update.
Here you can extend the absence by altering the End Date. Once you have done this, click Update and then Close. Do this for as many days as the employee is absent.
You have the ability to upload Evidence corresponding to this absence. Before clicking Close as outlined above, click Evidence and upload up to 6 documents.
When the employee returns to work, and the absence ends, navigate again to the absence record in the leave calendar. Click on the absence record, and click Update. This time, click Close to confirm the end date of the absence.
You still have the option to upload Evidence. You will also now have the option to re-open the record, or complete a Return to Work form. To access the guide on Completing Return to Work Forms, click the link below:
This absence record is now complete. It can be accessed via the Overview section of the employee's profile, and will also generate a Bradford Factor score, if this is relevant to your business.
