Google Search Console (GSC) is a free tool from Google that allows you to monitor and optimize your website's performance in Google Search. By verifying your site, you prove to Google that you are the owner or authorized person – only then will you gain access to important data about crawling, indexing, and search queries. To verify your Onepage website and trigger a new indexing request, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Open Google Search Console

Feel free to sign in using this link.

Step 2: Add Property

Click on “Add Property” in the top left corner.

Step 3: Select “URL prefix” and Enter URL

In the pop-up, select the “URL prefix” option. Enter the URL of your Onepage website – either the internal onepage.me domain or your own custom domain. Make sure to include https:// at the beginning and, if necessary, use the correct subdomain.

Step 4: Select HTML Verification Method

There are several methods to verify your domain. We recommend using the HTML tag method – it’s the easiest to implement.

Step 5: Place the HTML Tag Correctly

Copy the provided meta tag. Then go to your Onepage project settings (not the page settings), open the "Code" section, and paste the meta tag into the <head> area.
You can find more details in our step-by-step guide.

Step 6: Save and Update Code

Save your changes and click on “Update” in Onepage.

Step 7: Confirm Verification

Go back to Google Search Console and click on “Verify.”

Step 8: Add Sitemap

Open the "Sitemap" section in your new property, enter sitemap.xml, and click "Submit".

Step 9: URL Inspection & Request Indexing

If individual pages are still not indexed after a few days, use the "URL Inspection → Request Indexing" feature to specifically prompt Google to crawl them.

Step 10: Waiting Time & Monitoring

Please note that it can take up to 48 hours for Google to process the sitemap and include your pages in the search index. Regularly check the indexing status in the Search Console.

📌 Please note: Uploading the sitemap speeds up and systematizes Google's crawling, but it does not guarantee immediate or complete indexing of all URLs. With the URL Inspection tool, you can specifically request indexing for individual pages if they do not appear after up to two days.

🎉You have successfully verified your site with Google Search Console! 🎉

Frequently asked questions and solutions

How can I enable or block indexing for my projects/pages?

You can find this option in the project settings.

And also in the settings of each individual page.

Where can I find the URL of my page?

There are several ways to find the URL. The easiest is to publish the page, and the URL will be displayed automatically. Feel free to check out our guide for more details.

Why does the verification fail?

Common reasons include using the wrong protocol (http vs. https) or subdomain (www vs. without www) — please check carefully if the entered URL matches the one in the browser, and whether the meta tag is placed in the <head> section.

I still don’t see indexing after 48 hours – what now?

Use the URL Inspection tool in Search Console and click on "Request Indexing." This sends a targeted crawling request to Google.

Can I use the Domain property instead of the URL prefix?

Yes: With the domain property, you only need to verify your main domain (e.g. example.com) once, and all subdomains and protocol variants (like www.example.com, http, and https) will be automatically included.
To do this, you’ll need to set up a DNS record for verification. This can be done either through your domain provider or directly in Onepage – here’s the guide.

Where can I find my sitemap URL?

A sitemap for your page is automatically available. You can view it by adding /sitemap.xml to the end of your page URL in the browser, for example: yourpage.com/sitemap.xml.

Can I manage multiple websites in one Google Search Console account?

Yes, you can create and manage as many properties (URL prefix or domain) as you like within the same account.
