With the Lightspeed Menu Sync, your administration always stays in sync. What does it do? The sync links products and add-ons together so you only have to make changes in Lightspeed. Below you’ll find a clear explanation and key information summarized:
How does it work?
In the integrations settings, activate Menu Sync under the Lightspeed L-Series section. Then click "save" and make sure all other information is filled in. Note: the sync won’t run immediately. First follow the steps below. Once everything is correct, click "synchronize."
Step 1: Check the categories
In the integration settings, select which categories from Lightspeed should be copied to Onesix. Categories like "Discounts" should not be selected because they shouldn't appear on the Kiosk.
Step 2: Check which products should not be synced
Want to sync a category but exclude a specific product from appearing on the Kiosk? Then change that product’s description in Lightspeed to "hide", as shown below.
Step 3: Check all surcharges and deposits
Make sure surcharges are added as products in Lightspeed and that the product name includes "Deposit" or "Surcharge". Onesix will then recognize this as a surcharge and automatically add it as such in the system.
Step 4: Already have a menu in Onesix? Check the PLU codes
Is your menu already live in Onesix but you're not yet using the sync? Then make sure the PLU codes from Lightspeed match the Binding IDs in Onesix. You can easily check this via Products -> Overview. There you'll find a complete list of your products and add-ons. Click the gear icon and ensure that "Binding ID" is visible in the right-hand column.
Step 5: Check sections
Is your menu already live in Onesix, but you’re not using the sync function yet? Then check whether you have sections in Onesix that don’t exist in Lightspeed. In the Kiosk, it’s very common to ask something like “Would you like something to drink?”. However, that’s not a modifier in Lightspeed. That’s why you’ll probably want this section to remain and not be affected by the sync. You can activate this exception by editing the section and deactivating the “External sync” option.
Step 6: Synchronize!
Everything set up correctly? Then you can click "Sync now" either at the top of the products page or in your settings. You'll immediately see which products and add-ons are linked. Any changes made in Lightspeed from now on will also be reflected in Onesix.
FAQ
What gets synced?
All products and modifiers with the same PLU ID are linked together. If a product exists in a Lightspeed category but not in Onesix, it will automatically be added to Onesix.
How do I know if something is synced?
Linked products/add-ons are labeled with "Linked to __". If you don’t see this label, the items are not linked.
How do I link products together?
It’s simple. Make sure the PLU code in Lightspeed matches the Binding ID in Onesix. Note: a product in Lightspeed can only be linked to one product in Onesix, not multiple at once.
How often does syncing happen?
You can sync manually via the "Sync now" button on the product page. Additionally, syncing happens automatically every day at 6:00 AM.
How do I add a surcharge/deposit to a product?
In that case, create a Combo product in Lightspeed where you combine the product with the surcharge. See the example below:
In the example above, make sure "Campari Large" is set to hidden. Then only the combo product with the surcharge will be visible.
