Within sections we distinguish between 3 different options:

  • Variation

  • Add-on

  • Products

But when do you use which one?

  • Variations are choices you give the customer within a product. Examples of this are white/brown bread or a small/large cup. Variations are ideal for personalizing products. (Click here if you want more information about variations).

  • Addons are additions that you buy with a product but are not separately included in your menu, such as sauces, whipped cream, cheese, extra cheese, etc. (Click here if you want more information about addons).

Below, the customer is asked if they want a sauce with the fries. The choice is not mandatory, which is why the selection quantity is set to "0" and must be optionally checked.

  • Products are existing products that you already offer within the menu. You want to recommend these products because they go well with the current product and provide upselling or are part of a menu / deal.

In the case below, the product is a recommendation on Coca-Cola. That is why the selection quantity is set to "0" and optionally checked.

In the case of a menu where, for example, drinks are part of the menu, select "1" under selection quantity. This will automatically change the prices to "included". If you want to add a specific product with a surcharge, you can click on the edit button behind the product (see the red box at the bottom right of the image).
