A Parent Metric is used as an umbrella metric to display cumulative data from different sources. For example, you may want a Parent Metric called 'Total Revenue' which will encompass the data from both 'Permanent Revenue' and 'Contract Revenue'.
You need to have an admin account to be able to add a new metric.
Creating a parent metric
Log into your OneUp dashboard.
Click the circular Settings menu in the bottom left of your screen.
Select Metrics from the menu that appears.
In the top right of your screen, select Create Metric.
Here, you have the option to create an Activity, Rolling or Conversion Metric - for a Parent Metric, this will always be an Activity type.
Name your Parent Metric - e.g. Total Revenue.
Under Type decide whether it is a Quantity, Currency, or Duration metric.
Next, select the Child Metrics that will feed into this parent metric. E.g. for the Total Revenue example, you would choose Perm Revenue and Contract Revenue.
If you want this Metric to be hidden from consultants' Dashboards, turn off the Key Metric? option at the bottom of the pop up window.
Finally, hit Create!
