A Parent Metric is used as an umbrella metric to display cumulative data from different sources.
For example, you may want a Parent Metric called 'Total Revenue' which will encompass the data from both 'Permanent Revenue' and 'Contract Revenue'.
Creating a parent metric
To create metrics on OneUp, by default, you must have admin permissions.
Log into your OneUp dashboard and click the menu icon in the top right.
Select Metrics from the menu that appears.
In the top right of your screen, select Create Metric.
Here, you have the option to create an Activity, Rolling or Conversion Metric - for a Parent Metric, you can only choose between Activity or Rolling.
Name your Parent Metric - e.g. Total Revenue.
Under Type, decide whether it is a Quantity, Currency, Currency Fixed or Duration metric.

Next, select the Child Metrics that will feed into this parent metric. E.g. for the Total Revenue example, you would choose Perm Revenue and Contract Revenue.
If you are creating a Currency or Currency Fixed metric and you can't see the metrics you want to add as child metrics, try switching to the other currency metric type!
Finally, hit Create!

I can't add the metrics I want to my parent metric
If you're trying to add metrics of multiple sub-types to a parent metric, this isn't supported. All child metrics you're attempting to add must be of the same sub-type.
