Overview

Microsoft Teams celebrations bring automation straight to your team, wherever you are. MS Teams automations pop-up as a notification in the MS Teams app, in as many channels as you'd like!

This guide walks you through generating a MS Teams webhook URL.

Creating a new automation

The first step is to get an automation with an MS Teams notification action configured within OneUp. Follow the steps in our creating custom automations article.

Then follow the steps below to continue the next part of the setup, within Microsoft Teams.

Generating a Webhook URL

You'll need administrator privileges on your MS Teams account in order to complete the steps below.

  1. To get started, navigate to the channel in your organization that you'd like to add OneUp's automations to.

  2. Select the '. . .' button next to the channel, and select Workflows.

  3. In the new window that appears, you'll be asked what the workflow should do. Select the 'Post to a channel when a webhook request is received' option.

💡 Use the search box at the top if there are many options to choose from.

⚠️ Note: The post to a chat when a webhook request is received option may not be available depending on your organization type. For more help, contact your IT admin to permit access to this within MS Teams ⚠️

  4. On the next page, give your workflow a name. Use something recognizable (like 'OneUp deal automation' for example) and click Next.

Check that beneath the name, the correct Microsoft account is being used to create the workflow.

  5. The workflow will process and be created. If successful, you should see this window:

  6. Copy the URL generated using the button at the right of the URL box.

The configuration within MS Teams is now completed!

  7. Now copy and paste the webhook URL into the automation within OneUp.

To connect multiple channels, you can do so by repeating the above steps and separating the URLs by commas.
