This article will cover the basics of the Onfleet Tracking page that is sent to your organization's recipients.
This article covers:
What is the Onfleet Tracking Page?
The Onfleet Tracking Page is a real-time web page that allows your recipients (customers) to view their upcoming delivery or service, see the driver’s location on a map, and receive status updates.
What does the tracking page do?
The tracking page helps you:
Provide customers with up-to-date ETA information
Reduce “Where is my order?” requests
Improve transparency and customer satisfaction
Ensure drivers stay on schedule with fewer communication delays
Where do recipients access the tracking page?
Recipients access the tracking page through the automated SMS notifications sent from your Onfleet organization. The notification includes a link that opens the tracking page in any web browser.
You can confirm a task’s tracking page link by opening the task inside the Dashboard and reviewing the “Customer Tracking Link” section.
What information does the Onfleet Tracking Page display?
The Onfleet Tracking Page displays key delivery details so recipients can understand the status of their delivery without contacting your team.
The tracking page includes:
Task status: Active, en route, completed, or failed
Driver location: A real-time pin on the map showing where the driver is
Estimated time of arrival (ETA): Automatically updated based on live route progress
Driver information: Name and profile photo (if enabled)
Contact options: Call or message buttons (if enabled)
Organization branding: Logo, color theme.
How does real-time tracking work?
Real-time tracking works by updating the driver’s GPS location as they move through their route. The tracking page refreshes automatically, and the ETA will adjust if the driver experiences delays or completes earlier tasks ahead of schedule.
This ensures recipients see:
Accurate ETAs
Current driver position
How can admins and dispatchers customize the tracking page?
Administrators and dispatchers often ask how to customize the tracking page. You can customize the tracking page through your Dashboard → Settings → Tracking Page.
Customizations include:
Updating the message templates that send the tracking link
Enabling or disabling driver contact buttons
Uploading organization branding (logo and accent color for Enterprise)
Editing delivery instructions included in the SMS notification
Customized sender names or short links
When is the tracking page most useful for dispatch operations?
The tracking page is most useful when dispatchers want to reduce inbound questions or confirm that customers have the updated ETA.
Dispatch teams rely on the tracking page to:
Confirm that the recipient has opened the tracking link (Dashboard event tracking)
Communicate efficiently by ensuring customers know when to expect the driver
Reduce disruptions to drivers caused by unnecessary calls
Support high-volume operations without increasing manual outreach
Troubleshooting the Tracking Page
Check that SMS notifications are enabled
The tracking link will not send if outbound messages are disabled.
Confirm the task has a valid phone number
The tracking URL requires a phone number to deliver the SMS successfully.
Verify driver location sharing is on
If the driver has location services disabled, the tracking page cannot show an accurate live location.
Make sure the task is active
Tracking links will only show real-time location information for tasks that are not yet completed.
