A Big Team Knit is a relaxed and rewarding way to bring colleagues together while creating useful items for people in need. Your team can knit items such as hats, scarves, blankets or other essentials, depending on what your chosen charity currently needs.
No previous knitting experience is necessary, complete beginners can take part too!

What’s happening and when?
You’ll choose a charity to support, find out what knitted items they need and arrange a date for your team to come together for the knitting session. Before the event, colleagues can begin knitting their items or practise using the beginner video below. On the day, everyone can knit together and help complete the donations.
Who will be interested and why?
This is a great activity for anyone who enjoys being creative, learning a new skill or spending time with colleagues away from their usual work. It’s suitable for experienced knitters and complete beginners, and everyone can contribute at their own pace.
The finished items will be donated to a charity supporting people in need, giving your team the opportunity to create something practical and meaningful.

Choose a local charity that needs knitted donations. You can find a list of charities here (This link will share a list of UK-based charities. Requirements
You’ll need:
A charity that is happy to receive your knitted donations
Confirmation of what the charity needs and how the finished items should be delivered
A suitable space where your team can knit together
Wool, knitting needles and patterns for everyone taking part
Someone to collect and send or deliver the completed donations to the charity
Please check the charity’s requirements before you begin, as some organisations may only accept particular items, sizes, materials or patterns.
