Follow these quick tips to keep yourself and those you are helping, safe and secure.
First phone call
Phone the person you are helping from the link in the app. We add 141 to any calls you make here. This hides your number from those you are calling to keep you safe.
Data protection
As a volunteer, we ask that you keep all data that you come across such as phone numbers and addresses safe and secure. Please do not share this information with anyone else and delete this information when it's no longer needed.
Equality
Everyone deserves the same respect whatever background, nationality or ethnicity they are. We know you will do this, but please make sure you treat those you are helping how you would like to be treated.
Emergencies
If you think there’s a serious problem, always call 999 and report everything back to onHand via the app.
