Hold a Book Drive to raise awareness about the impact of book poverty on children’s lives whilst directly supporting your local community. Invite the team to bring in books that their children have grown out of or to purchase and donate a favourite book from their own childhood.
We have some recommended organisations who welcome these donations, but if you are aware of a local School/organisation/charity/library that you'd like to run the Book Drive that's great! Just make sure to contact them beforehand to let them know you'll be donating so they can provide information on what is/isn't accepted.
Children's Book Project
London, Birmingham, Leeds and Oxford
If within the M25, they will collect the books and if in Birmingham, Leed or Oxford you can take donations to their hubs.
Better World Books
UK and USA
They have donation points across the UK and USA, but if there is not one close by you can send them in the post.
Books To Africa
UK
You can book a collection from anywhere in the UK and there is a £8 per box collection fee contribution required to cover the costs of using a courier. If located in/near Canterbury you can take them to a drop-off point.
