Students can receive free/reduced lunch benefits for 30 days into the new school year before they are required to submit a new application. jmc makes it simple to adhere to these regulations by allowing food service professionals to import free/reduced lunch statuses from the prior year into the current school year. This ensures students continue receiving appropriate benefits without interruption. With just a click, you can maintain prior-year lunch statuses while waiting for updated applications from families.

Log into the District building of jmc Office and navigate to Lunch > Data Setup > Import Free and Reduced Status from Prior Year.

Step One: Enter the date you want the import status to take effect in the "Effective Date" field.

Helpful Tip: Set the "Effective Date" to the first day of school to avoid interruptions in benefits.

Fun Fact: If lunch transactions have already been processed for the current school year, a warning in red will appear at the top of the page, indicating that transactions before the effective date won’t reflect the free/reduced lunch price.

Step Two: Click the "Import" button to carry over students' free/reduced lunch statuses from the end of the prior school year to the current school year.

Fun Fact: A confirmation dialog box will appear, prompting you to contact jmc for a password to prevent accidental updates.

Step Three: Enter the password provided by jmc in the designated field and click the "OK" button to proceed with the import. If you wish to cancel, click the "Close" button to return to the previous page.

Step Four: Click the "Print" button to save a PDF or print a hard copy of your import results for your records.
