The district calendar in jmc Office serves as the master calendar for your school district, including the first and last day of the school year along with late starts, early dismissal and days with no school. Establishing your district calendar defines the total number of days in your school year and is essential for scheduling terms and establishing enrollment records. Simply set your first and last day of school and then define any "Special Days" such as school holidays or inservices with just a few clicks!

Select your school's district from the "Switch Building" drop-down list and head to Attendance > Calendar > Days to get started.

Step One: Select the appropriate dates from the "First Day of School" and "Last Day of School" drop-down lists to establish the beginning and end of your school year.

Step Two: Click the "Save" button to update the first and last day of school settings.

Step Three: Select the appropriate building from the "Switch Building" drop-down list and choose the "Special Days" radio button to begin defining school holidays or inservice days on your calendar.

Step Four: Select a grade level or "All Grades" from the "Grades" drop-down list to define no school days or partial days for your entire school or for specified grade levels.

Step Five: Double-click the gray bar on a date in the calendar view to toggle through "No school" day options.

  • School Day: A regular day of school on your calendar.

  • No School: Days without school such as a scheduled holiday, or snow day.

  • No School AM: A school day that starts after noon, indicating a late start due to an event such as a scheduled inservice or inclement weather.

  • No School PM: A school day that ends at noon due to an event such as parent/teacher conferences, staff inservice or inclement weather.

Fun Fact: The page will auto save each time you update a "Special Day" to help speed up the process of establishing your calendar.

Helpful Tip: Click the left or right arrow icon to advance months in the calendar view or click the "today" button to jump to the current date when defining "Special Days".

Step Six: Repeat step five for each scheduled "Special Day" or return to this page as needed and update "Special Days" due to unforeseen circumstances.
