Creating a student medical emergency plan

Student medical emergency plans communicate vital student information to office staff and teachers.

Create, update, and share emergency plans for students with allergies and other medical conditions to help keep them safe. Enter critical health details, upload supporting documents, and grant teacher access so staff are prepared to respond quickly and appropriately in an emergency. With accurate, up-to-date information in jmc, your team can provide timely, informed care when it matters most.

To get started creating a medical emergency plan for a student, head to Health > Medical Emergency Plan > Edit Student Medical Emergency Plan.

Step One: Enter a student's name in the "Find" field to create or update the student's medical emergency plan.

Step Two (optional): Click the "Import from Prior Year" button to populate the medical emergency plan field with the student's medical emergency plan from the previous year.

Step Three: Enter the student's medical emergency plan in the field provided to communicate important health details that your district team may need during an emergency.

Helpful Tip: Customize a student's medical emergency plan by inserting web links, changing font color, size, style, and more using the features provided in the formatting toolbar.

Step Four (optional): Click the "Add Record" link to upload and attach documents with detailed emergency care instructions to build out the student’s medical emergency plan.

Step Five: Place a checkmark in the "Share with Teachers" checkbox to give teachers access to the student’s medical emergency plan in jmc Teacher.

Step Six: Click the "Save" button to apply your updates to the medical emergency plan.

Helpful Tip: Select a date from the "Revisions" drop-down list to view a previous version of the student’s emergency plan for tracking changes or retrieving past details.
