Minnesota schools can apply for summer meal benefits on behalf of their eligible students by exporting an EBT file to share with the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE). With just a few clicks, office professionals can download a file containing all the required data elements requested by the MDE using jmc’s EBT File Export feature, saving time by compiling all necessary data across jmc modules in one convenient location.
To create your S-EBT file in jmc Office head to Lunch > Free/Reduced > EBT File Export to get started.
Step One: Select a radio button from the "Select" box to identify which group of students will be included in the export.
All Students: every student will be included in the export file
By Grade Level: only students in the selected grade level(s) will be included in the export file
Random Student: select one or more students by entering their name or student ID in the "Find" field
By Tag: only students with the selected Tag(s) will be included in the export file
Step Two (optional): Place a checkmark in the "Include Inactive Students" checkbox to include both active and inactive students in your S-EBT export. This ensures that students who previously attended your district are also eligible to participate in the S-EBT benefits program.
Step Three (optional): Place a checkmark in the "Include only free/reduced students" checkbox if you'd like to limit your export to just those students who were eligible for the state's free and reduced lunch program.
Helpful Tip: If you're including only free/reduced students, enter the "Eligibility Date From" and "Eligibility Date To" in the appropriate fields to narrow your list to only students who were eligible for free or reduced lunches during the entered time period.
Step Four: Click the "Start Export" button to download your S-EBT data into a CSV file for submission to the MDE.
