Lace up with the OnTracx sensor

Attach, connect, and you’re ready to go!

Updated over a week ago

The sensor is easy to attach, but placement matters. Follow these steps:

  1. Pick your leg

    • If you’ve had injuries, place the sensor on the leg with the most history.

    • No injuries? Great — choose either leg, but stick with the same one for consistency.

  2. Strap it to your leg

    • Place the strap (with sensor + mount) about 10 cm above your inner ankle, on the flat part of your shin bone.

  3. Attach the sensor to the mount

    • Press the pins of the sensor firmly into the mount.

    • Make sure the sensor faces slightly inward.

    • The logo and text should be upright and readable — that’s how you know it’s in the correct position.

  4. Adjust for comfort
Tighten the strap so it stays in place, but keep it comfortable and non-restrictive.

  5. Do a quick test
Before starting your run, jump a few times or jog in place for a few seconds to check if the strap stays secure.

ℹ️ It's possible that you, while running, "kick" the sensor out of the mount. The best way to prevent this is to put your socks over the sensor.

Open the Ontracx app, and check your connection

In the top-right corner of your dashboard, you’ll see the connection button. Its color shows whether your OnTracx sensor is connected:

  • 🟢 Green = connected

  • 🟡 Yellow = not connected

  1. Tap the connection button to open the connection screen.

  2. Enable Bluetooth
If this is your first time using the device, you’ll need to switch on Bluetooth before pairing your sensor.

  3. Wake up your sensor
To activate your sensor (it may go into standby mode), touch the two metal pins on the back at the same time for less than one second.

  4. Find your sensor
If more than one sensor is nearby, select yours by checking the unique ID printed on the back of the device.

ℹ️ When your sensor is active and in pairing mode, the red LED light stays on continuously. After one minute, the sensor enters standby mode. To wake it up, briefly press both pins again.

✅ You look great! Your sensor is ready and so are you. Let’s go for a run!
