Recognizing fans is one of the most meaningful actions an artist can take. Proximity, belonging, and recognition sit at the heart of every artist-fan relationship - and replying to a fan comment on a Post takes seconds but can leave a lasting impression.
Set up an official artist account
Before leaving official replies as the artist, add a dedicated artist user to Openstage Manager.
Navigate to Account Settings.
Select Default Team.
Click Add New User.
Enter the artist email address (for example, info@artistname.com).
Set up 2FA - both SMS and authenticator app are recommended so there is always a backup.
Reply to fan comments
Open any published Post and navigate to the comments section.
Click the profile icon in the top right and sign in using a magic link, or a password if one is configured under Data Collection in Posts settings.
Click Reply on any fan comment to leave a response.
🟢 Top tip: Add a profile image while signed in - fans see this alongside every comment you leave.
⚪ Note: Any member of the default admin team can leave an official reply. A badge displaying Official ⭐️ appears to the right of comments from any admin team members. The name shown to fans is pulled from the username set in the team member's profile.
Every artist-fan interaction matters
The first few hours after sharing something exclusively with fans - a first listen for a new release, tour announcement, merch drop, or behind-the-scenes moment - is the most valuable time to be in the comments. Engaging fans early keeps the conversation going and reinforces the sense of belonging that turns casual fans into core ones.
