Fan HQ is the home for your fans. One place for your music, tour dates, Posts, memberships, and more - where fans can discover your world, join it, and keep coming back. Use it as your website, your link-in-bio, or wherever you currently send fans.
Fan HQ Walkthrough
Before you start
Fan HQ uses your Brand Kit for all design elements. Set up your Brand Kit before building your Fan HQ so your styling is applied consistently from the start.
⚪ Note: If you haven't set up a Brand Kit yet, see Configure a Brand Kit for a full walkthrough. Brand Kits are managed under Settings > Brand Kits, or from Fan HQ > Design.
Build and publish your Fan HQ
Step 1: Configure your header
Navigate to Fan HQ. The header is the first thing fans see when they land on your page.
Configure the following:
Hero image - adjust focal point separately for desktop and mobile, and adjust blend %
Profile image - circular, adjust width
Title - text or logo, adjust logo width
Alignment - for profile image and title
Description - for example, the name of your community
Recommended image dimensions:
Image | Aspect Ratio | Minimum size | Recommended size |
Hero | 5:2 (desktop) / 4:3 (mobile) | 768 × 256px | 1280 × 427px |
Profile | 1:1 | 192 × 192px | 320 × 320px |
Logo | Flexible | ~320 × 96px | ~640 × 192px |
⚪ Note: Aspect ratio is width to height. By adjusting the hero image focal point, the desktop aspect ratio is 5:2 and the mobile aspect ratio is 4:3.
Step 2: Configure your Join block
A Join block comes pre-populated in your Fan HQ template. Keep it front and center - the less friction between a fan landing on your page and joining your world, the better.
Configure the following:
Title - your main call to action (optional)
Description - what joining your world means for fans (optional)
Button label
Step 3: Add content blocks
Click + Add Block to build out your Fan HQ with additional content. See the block reference below for a full breakdown of available blocks and their settings.
⚪ Note: Appearance settings configured on an individual block override the card defaults from your Brand Kit for that block only. Clearing any overridden value reverts it to the Brand Kit default. To update card defaults across all blocks, edit them in the Design tab.
Step 4: Configure Fan HQ settings
Navigate to Fan HQ > Settings.
Posts feed
Toggle on Posts Feed to let fans browse your Posts in a feed on your Fan HQ.
Your Posts feed displays any Posts you choose to host there. Fans can access it by clicking Posts anywhere on your Fan HQ, or you can add a Recent Posts block to display your latest Posts - using social preview images - directly on your Fan HQ homepage.
Fan onboarding
Configure the journey fans go through when they join your Fan HQ. The onboarding flow has four stages:
1. They join with their email - every sign-up starts here, from your Join block or from unlocking a gated Post. A verification email goes out straight away. Email and email marketing consent are always collected.
2. They fill in their profile - fans tell you who they are. Toggle on the fields you want to collect and set whether each is required. Required fields do not block sign-up - they just have to be filled in before a fan can finish this step. Available fields include:
Full name
Username
Location
Phone number (includes SMS marketing consent)
Date of birth
Click + Add Field to add additional fields such as social handles or t-shirt size.
3. They check their inbox - fans confirm their email address. If they stop here, you keep everything they provided up to that point.
4. They come back verified - clicking the verification link signs them in and completes the flow. Any optional fields they skipped are presented again, and they land back where they started.
Social preview, password protection, and publishing
Configure your social preview - title, description, image, and icon.
Optionally enable password protection to restrict page access with a passcode.
Step 5: Publish
When your Fan HQ is ready, toggle on Enable the Homepage and click Save & Publish. Use the three dots menu to unpublish at any time.
Share the link across your socials and any fan-facing touchpoints to start bringing fans into your world.
⚪ Note: Your Fan HQ URL follows the pattern artistname.hq.fan. If your Posts feed is toggled on, it can be accessed at artistname.hq.fan/posts.
🟢 Top tip: Create a web-only Post welcoming fans into your world - set web access to Signed in and pin it to the top of your Posts feed so it's the first thing fans see when they join. Use it to set the scene for what being part of your community means: what to expect, what's coming, and why it's worth being here. See Create and Publish a Post and Gate Content in a Post for more detail.
Block Types
🟢 Top tip: Once your Fan HQ is live, make sure fans can access your music, merch, and tour dates from within your world. Click here for a guide to adding releases, a merch block, and tour dates across both Fan HQ and Posts.

Configure the block title and the number of shows to display by default. You can also hide individual dates.
Releases
Display your music directly on your Fan HQ using native DSP embeds. Paste in a Spotify, Apple Music, or Deezer link and the music fetch tool pulls in a full set of DSP links for that release automatically.
Configure the following:
Layout - list, grid, or carousel
Order - arrange DSP links in your preferred order
Display - Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, artwork only, or links only
Appearance
🟡 Please note: The DSP link at the top of the order is the player that loads when a fan taps or clicks on a release.
Connect DSP
Ask fans to connect their DSP so they never miss a release. Requires artist DSP links for Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer to be added in Artist Settings.
Toggle on the DSPs you want to offer, then configure:
Main heading and call to action
Description - why fans should connect their DSP
🟢 Top tip: Trigger a release or playlist drop the first time a fan connects their DSP. See Create Automated Email and SMS Journeys for more detail.
Import from Fanpage
If you have an existing Fanpage, you can import your header, branding, and content blocks directly into your Fan HQ.
Click the three dots menu in the bottom left corner of the Fan HQ builder.
Select Import from Fanpage.
Choose which elements to import and whether to replace your current Fan HQ build or add to it.
⚪ Note: You can import from a published Fanpage or your latest draft. Blocks from a draft Fanpage can also be imported independently, regardless of which overall Fanpage option you select. Any sections that cannot be imported are highlighted in the Import from Fanpage panel.
⚪ Note: When importing from your Fanpage, typography settings are preserved where possible. To apply your Brand Kit heading and body fonts instead, reset or edit the custom typography settings after importing.
Design
Use the Design tab to control the visual style of your Fan HQ using Brand Kits. Brand Kits store your colors, fonts, and styling so you can apply a consistent look. Select an existing Brand Kit or create a new one from scratch.
Simple settings

Foreground color - default text and icon color
Accent - buttons, links, highlights, and interactive elements
Heading font - used for titles and headings
Body font - used for paragraphs and general text
Corners - rounding on buttons, cards, and form fields
Surface style - default look for buttons, cards, and other surfaces
Advanced settings

For more on Brand Kits, see Configure a Brand Kit.
Subscriptions
Every fan who joins your world becomes a free member by default. If only the default free tier is active, fans are not presented with any tier options on signup. The default free tier can be renamed but cannot be deleted - it is the tier every fan joins when they enter your world.
To offer paid tiers, connect Stripe first. Navigate to Artist Settings > Payments and Billing and connect Stripe for Fan Subscriptions.
Edit subscription tiers
Click the + icon in the dotted rectangle to add a new tier. Configure the following per tier:
Tier name
Billing period - monthly or annually
Recurring fee - leave empty for a free tier
Trial period - in days
One-off fee - leave empty if no one-off fee applies
Tier description - outline the perks and benefits of the tier
⚪ Note: Each tier is automatically assigned a tag based on the tier name - for example, a tier named "Databasses Plus" generates the tag tier-databassesplus.
🟢 Top tip: Keep your tier structure simple. One free tier and a small number of clearly differentiated paid tiers is easier for fans to navigate and more likely to convert.
Analytics
Views - counted every time your Fan HQ opens, including repeat visits from the same fan. The signed-in figure shows how many of those views came from logged-in fans. Click the signed-in number to open that audience.
New visitors - fans visiting your Fan HQ for the first time, counted once per device within the period of that first visit. Returning devices are not counted again.
New fans - fans signing up for the first time, counted once in the period they joined. Any signup across your Fan HQ counts, not just the homepage. Click the number to open that audience.
Clicks - every click on a Fan HQ link. Fans can click more than once, so this counts clicks rather than people. The signed-in figure shows how many of those clicks came from a logged-in fan. Click the signed-in number to open that audience.
Clicks per view - clicks divided by views. This figure can exceed 1 because a single visit can produce multiple clicks. The signed-in figure applies the same ratio to signed-in traffic only.
Views over time - a graph showing fan and visitor traffic over time.
Links clicked - a breakdown of outbound link clicks.
Where fans came from - a summary of fan referral URLs.
Acquisition and Audiences
Fan HQ is a key tool for growing your owned audience. Every fan who joins through your Fan HQ is tracked by acquisition source, giving you a clear picture of where new fans are coming from.
Fan HQ acquisition sources
Fan HQ: Homepage - fans who joined your world via the Join block on your Fan HQ homepage.
Fan HQ: Join - fans who joined via artistname.hq.fan/join, a version of your Fan HQ that contains only a Join block. Use this URL anywhere you want to send fans directly to a sign-up prompt.
Track new fan acquisition
To see how many new fans you have acquired via Fan HQ, either:
Check the Growth Dashboard, or
Navigate to Fans > All Fans, add an Acquisition Type filter, and select Fan HQ.
Expand your world with Posts
Fan HQ is the home. Posts is how you keep fans coming back to it.
Every Post you publish to your feed adds to a growing catalogue of content fans can discover when they arrive - a first listen, a tour announcement, a behind-the-scenes moment, or an exclusive drop. New fans who join through your Fan HQ land somewhere with depth, not an empty page.
Use gating to make your Posts feed a reason to join your world. Public Posts bring fans in. Gated sections give them a reason to go further - signing up, subscribing, or connecting their DSP to unlock what's inside.
The more you post, the richer your world becomes, and the stronger the case for a fan to join it.
